The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. I'm very excited about the upcoming release of the new album by Cardiff-based jazz-gypsie-folk band Miss Maud's Folly. It's being pressed and printed as we speak, so in the meantime here's a little sneak peek of the artwork I did for it...

On the eve of Halloween my friend Matt is putting on this show at Gwdihw in Cardiff, which will be an "eclectic mix of freaks, fuck-ups and disconcerting sounds". And I drew some 'eccentrics' to help him promote it!

You could say I've been on gig spree: in 9 days I've seen about 14 bands, varying from jazz to indie, from hip hopto folk, from garage rock to gypsy. My spree kicked off with Fránçois & The Atlas Mountains. I had to battle the elements to get to this gig, but once inside the venue the atmosphere couldn't have been in greater contrast with the miserable weather outside.

Totally random but highly enjoyable evening in the backroom of The Royal Oak in Cardiff last Friday, where several bands performed for Big Scott's show on Cardiff Radio. My mate Matt from Quiet Marauder (who gave a brilliant performance themselves that night) joined these old geezers on percussion. One guy was sound asleep throughout their entire set haha.

I've got a little group exhibition coming up over at A Shot in the Dark - one of Cardiff's nicer coffee cafes. The exhibition is part of the Jazz Gallery, a weekly jazz night that aims to provide a platform for local jazz musicians and artists.

Who would have thought a book fair could be so much fun! Over 60 lovely artists sold their (handmade) books and zines at the Ffotogallery in Penarth last Saturday. Lots of people came down, the place was heaving all day! I played records on my portable record player (the Fidelity) and I had the pleasure of ending the already brilliant day with a packed dance floor at the afterparty at 10ft Tall!
