A desk space has become available at my studio, right next to me! I'm on the third floor of The Printhouse, part of Bootstrap Company, a social enterprise founded in 1977 that supports charities and small creative businesses. It's a big open plan office in the heart of Dalston, East London, with friendly people working in design, music, film and events.

When I was young my mother would always be painting and drawing. She would draw my brother and I while we were watching television, or she'd draw the scenery from the car while my dad drove us towards our holiday destination. She would doodle while being on the phone and always keep a sketchbook...

I had a wonderful day in Walthamstow, east London yesterday. I now totally get why this suburb is dubbed Awesomestow. A museum, vintage shopping, a warehouse filled with neon signs and a mircobrewery made it a great day out...

Yay, it's officially out today: the first full length album by the wonderful Miss Maud's Folly! With artwork by yours truly. Available physically from the band's website and digitally via iTunes...

I really enjoyed listening to Grayson Perry's series of lectures on art for BBC Radio 4 (listen or download these Reith Lectures here). In one episode he mentioned he like's drawing in front of the television while watching crap programs...

It's been far too long since I've organized a Pub Carpet Crawl. Though the last two London crawls were loads of fun, they were not very successful in terms of carpet-count, so I think I had been demotivated a bit by this... But a feature in the December issue of KLM's inflight magazine Holland Herald (yes yes!!!) should be celebrated with another crawl!!

Less then a mile from where I live, on a rather leak strecht of Mare Street in East London, you will the mysteriously named Last Tuesday Society, a fabulous curiosity museum and shop. Two floors are filled to the brim with stuffed animals, exotic objects like shrunken heads and other oddities...

I'm loving this summer! But as much as I enjoy the heat, the temperatures at the studio are pushing it a bit.. It's been so hot (35C!) I've been forced to take my drawing pad outside. Luckily I live close to two lovely parks. I couldn't resist making some doodles of all the interesting characters that were surrounding me...

Last evening I had the pleasure of attending a free talk by the makers of Wrap, hosted by YCN in Shoreditch, London. Wrap is one of the most beautiful magazines around. They showcase the best illustrators out there and it’s large size truly let’s them shine...

Last Saturday I went to see The Paper Cinema's latest production Odyssey at the Battersea Arts Centre. It was a bit of a trek, but completely worth it; it was the most amazing performance I'd seen in a long long time. In fact it was so beautiful it made me cry!
